Why the Radiator Fan Sucks Air Instead of Blowing?

Most car radiator fans do not blow air to the radiator, but suck air from the front to the back.

1. Why does the car radiator fan suck the wind instead of blowing it?

Mainly because the air flow is from front to back when the car is driving. If the truck radiator fan blows to the water tank at this time, the blowing direction of the fan will oppose the air flow, causing the air flow to be turbulent, which is not conducive to heat dissipation. If the air is sucked from the front to the back, the blowing direction of the fan is the same as the air flow direction, which is conducive to more air flow through the car radiator and accelerate the heat dissipation of the coolant.

2. Types of fans for car radiators

At present, the motor types of the fan are mainly divided into brushed and brushless motors. Brushless motors are still the most used. Brushless electronics are gradually being used in new models and are gradually becoming popular.

The biggest difference in structure between brushed electronic fans and brushless electronic fans in automobiles is the carbon brushes. Those with carbon brushes are called brushed fans, and those without carbon brushes are called brushless fans. The carbon brush is a device used to transfer energy or signals between the fixed part and the rotating part of the electric fan motor.

Generally speaking, carbon brushes are made of pure carbon plus coagulant, which is why they are called "carbon brushes". The carbon brush is stuck on the metal bracket, and there is a spring inside to tightly press it on the rotating shaft. When the motor rotates, the electric energy is transmitted to the coil through the inverter.
