When checking on a car engine, fill the truck radiator with water, cover the truck radiator cap, and check with a tester with a rubber ball and a water pressure gauge.
Connect the tester and the drain switch of truck radiator with a leather tube, turn on the drain switch, and pinch the rubber ball to intensify it. When the steam pipe of the truck radiator cap starts to deflate, the pressure gauge reading should change between 27 to 37KPa, indicating that the valve of truck radiator cap functions well.
Then turn off the water drain switch, connect the test tube to the steam tube, pinch the rubber ball to intensify it, and stop punching when the pressure of the water pressure gauge reaches 50KPa. Consequently if the pressure can remain stable, the sealing is good; if the pressure drops quickly, the radiator is leaky, and the leaking part should be checked and repaired.
The large leaking parts can be repaired by soldering at the junction between the upper and lower water chambers and the core. If the water pipe leaks, the repair process is very complicated. If a single pipe leaks, it can be repaired by the pipe blocking method, and the upper and lower mouths of the leaking pipe are blocked, but the number of blocked pipes should not be more than 3. If most of the pipes are leaking, the replacement method is generally adopted.
The deformation of the radiator fin will reduce the air flow, reduce the heat dissipation function of the truck radiator, and the engine may overheat. Correction method: generally use needle-nose pliers to correct the deformed radiator fin.
